Dr. Schenkel is a Full Professor with research interests ranging from theoretical to applied genetics and genomics in livestock breeding. Current research focuses on the use of genomic information to enhance genetic evaluation of livestock species with emphasis on genomic selection. His research program is supported by industry and governmental funds, including various funding agencies.
